In that same period, during Latin classes, we translated Pliny the Younger's eyewitness account of the eruption of Vesuvius and the destruction of Pompeii and Herculaneum. After 40 years, I visited Pompeii; it was a wonderful experience!\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis painting is an homage to that ancient world, and who knows, a gladiator might follow soon.
