This village has a rich history dating back to the Middle Ages. It was first mentioned in writing in 1147. It was a lordship at the time of the Roman Empire and originated from the Old Germanic word 'wiler' which means homestead or hamlet. The river Geul flows through it, alongside which the Brand Brewery is also located.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI captured this little river in this painting.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCanvas size: 40x40x1.5cm in oil paint.
